Horsecycle! The Bicycles

Introducing the Horsecycle! Bicycles are great inventions, but a lot of people prefer riding on animals instead. Could we invent a machine that looks like an animal but works like a bicycle? That's what American inventor Lewis Rygg did in 1893 - and here it is: the "Mechanical Horse," or perhaps "Horsecycle." You ride it like a bicycle, pushing your legs up and down to make the gears rotate inside. As the wheels turn, they lift the horse's legs up and down using cranks and levers... and off you go. It was a completely serious invention but, for some reason, never caught on.
