On the planet 51 Pegasi B, it rains Iron

Pegasi B is a gas giant 50 light years away. It's located in the constellation Pegasus, and is the most massive planet found outside our solar system so far. Its temperatures range from 1000°C (1832°F) to 2000°C (3632°F), its gravity is 15 times as strong as ours, and its years are just 5.6 of our Earth days.

According to a documentary presented on the
National Geographic channel, the planet is very rich in iron because it falls from the sky! Astronomers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Massachusetts were the first to spot the superdense planet, using the HATNet global network of automated telescopes. The telescop network scans a large fraction of the Northern Hemisphere sky every night to search for planets. The whole documentary can be seen below. Check it out!
