Alligators can go without food for up to 3 years! Alligators have been around for a long time. Some say that they are our only live link to dinosaurs. They live in a number of places including southeastern U.S. states and are perfect for their environment. They are one of very few reptiles that care for their young. Alligators have super sensitive vibration sensors on their skin that detect even the slightest vibrations in the water to let them know danger is near. Alligators are extremely instinctive and dangerous. Their brain weighs only 8 or 9 grams, which means it can fit in half a tablespoon! If they’re hungry, then they will eat. Unfortunately pets and small animals who wander close to alligator ponds become victims of the deadly animal. Photo Credit to National Geographic
